Mkomazi National Park

Situated in the north-eastern region of Tanzania, Mkomazi National Park is spread across an impressive area of 3234 square kilometers. Approximately 120 kilometers to the east of Moshi town, this national park is shadowed by the towering snow-capped peaks of Kilimanjaro and is snuggled between the Pare Eastern Arc mountain ranges and the stunning Usambara Mountains.

It was established to preserve the fragile ecosystem and serves as an important refuge for two highly endangered species – the African wild dog and the black rhino. This park also forms a contiguous wildlife habitat with Kenya's Tsavo West National Park. This is why visitors get to watch migratory animals from Kenya in Mkomazi during Tanzania Safaris.
