Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara and Arusha National Park.

Tanzania is perhaps the best safari destination in the world. The country takes preserveing its natural resources seriously, with over 30% of its area under protected status. The most popular portion of the country for tourists is northern Tanzania. With both the famous Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater located in the north this is a major draw. Along with the fact that Mt Kilimanjaro also in the north so a Serengeti safari and Mt Kilimanjaro climb can be easily combined in the same trip. There are some safari destinations that are great but overshadowed by their more famous neighbors. Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Arusha national parks, although close together geographically, each park is unique and definitely worth a visit. Easy to add to a wildlife safari are various cultural/tribal visits. Maasai and Hadzabe tribes along with cultural village tours and a visit to the famous Olduvai Gorge can be included. We specialize in customized itineraries so we welcome a dialog with you to create the perfect itinerary for you. Overnights during safaris can range from basic camping in tents under the African skies to luxurious five star resorts and of course everything in between.
Your guide will be an expert of the local flora and fauna, having studied for years followed by further years guiding experience before being selected to become a Joining Safaris safari guide. We use only well maintained Toyota Land Cruisers and Land Rovers all with custom safari viewing roofs. Every client is guarenteed a window seat for the best possible game viewing. Some destinations also allow walking safaris, accompanied by manditory armed park rangers. Also available is the ultimate in a luxury safari experience - a hot air balloon safari followed by a picnic breakfast complete with sparkling wine. The possibilites are endless. Let Joining Safaris lead you on the adventure of your lifetime!

We have included some of our most commonly requested itineraries. Let these serve as a start for your ideas. We will gladly customize your itinerary to suit your needs and resources. Moshi has an ideal location for safaris, your safari can last anywhere from one day to a couple of weeks - so what we list here is just a start for your plans, we will work together to create your ideal itinerary.

Mount Kilimanjaro and it`s little sister Mount Meru.

Mt Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain that can be climbed without technical skills or equipment. It is termed a 'walk up mountian'. Does that mean that it is easy? NO! Far from it. Does that mean that it has no danger? NO! Kilimanjaro can be deadly but with a skilled, well trained guide it can be conquered by many people, even you. In fact the guide is so important that the park will not allow climbs without a certified guide. What it takes is determination and a bit of luck how your body reacts to the altitude. And indeed it does help to be well prepared physically, mentally and with the right gear. The biggest obstacle is the altitude. At the summit, the available oxygen is only half that as at sea level. Listen to your guides instructions and be transparent with him about how your body is handling the conditions and you will have a good chance of success.
Mt Meru is Kilimanjaro's little sister. Located in nearby Arusha Nationa Park, it is the second highest mountain in Tanzania. It is much less climbed but often used as an acclimmatization climb before attempting Kilimanjaro. But Mt Meru is a great climb in its own right. Here are some climbing  itineraries.

The following quotes are from tripadvisor:

"We found Joining Safaris on TripAdvisor while looking for a last minute Kilimanjaro option in Moshi. They were able to find us another group on the route we wanted to do (Lemosho Route) in order to save us a bit of money. The total price wasn't the absolute cheapest that we found, but the service was so wonderful that it was completely worth it. We wanted to do the 8 days, whereas the other group was only doing 7 days, so in the end we essentially had our own little team of two guides, porters, chef & waiter. Just enough for a really comfortable trek, but not too many. We were given any gear we needed as part of the price. Worth checking the gear to make sure you are comfortable with it, the guys will find other gear if needed. The sleeping bags didn't seem like they would be warm enough, so Erick immediately sourced us some super warm ones. Our guides were Saraji & Moses and they were both very experienced and competent, we felt safe the whole time. They had started out as porters, so knew the route extremely well. Perhaps not as much nature guiding as you would have with a guide school guide (they would often be chatting amongst themselves while leading us along the route), but for the trek safety was the most important thing for us. We reached the summit nice and early to watch the sunrise and it was overall a wonderful trek. Food was quite basic, but plentiful which is what you need when trekking and there was always enough water, plus tea, coffee etc. Post trekking popcorn is the best! Erick came out and met us at the end of our trek which was lovely.

We then went on to do a 3 day budget safari as well. We wanted to do Arusha NP, Ngorongoro & Tarangire, which isn't really a popular route, but Erick was happy for us to keep delaying the start date in the hope of finding others to join, We didn't in the end, but he gave us a really good price for a private safari for just the two of us. Our guide was Emmanuel and he was excellent. Spotting animals and stopping in all the right places for photos. Our cook was also very good, the food was fantastic, although sometimes took a little but long to come out, I think because he was working on making it so perfectly! There were some logistical teething problems at the start with the Ngorongoro permits, but these were worked out and I think they were because we had chosen an unusual itinerary. Overall it was really wonderful, and seemed like excellent value considering what we paid.

Highly recommend Erick and Joining Safaris. He will go out of his way to help you with trekking and a safari and can be trusted 100%. Wish we could go back to do some more trips with them!"

"We had a great time doing our 4-days safari trip with joining safaris. Eric is an awesome guy who gives good information about what to expect for the trip. Emanuel was our guide and that worked perfectly; he knows a lot about all the animals and he knows how to get the car in the best possible positions to see all of them! I would defintitely recommend to do a safari with this company!!"
